Akwaaba, Ghana! Generation H Pilot Implementation Takes Root in Accra
Accra, Ghana – October 2026
Generation H has reached another important milestone with the launch of field implementor training in Accra, Ghana, bringing the project’s co-created, multi-component intervention one step closer to practical implementation in the communities it was designed with and for.

The training brought together Peer Leaders, Physical Activity Facilitators and Club Patrons from partner Faith-Based Organizations, alongside Research Assistants from the intervention monitoring team.

Through hands-on sessions, discussion and practical exercises, participants were introduced to the different components of the Generation H intervention and the roles they will play during pilot implementation. The training is designed to equip local implementors with the knowledge, skills and practical tools needed to support effective and consistent delivery of the intervention on the ground.

Faith-Based Organizations are an important part of community life in Ghana, and their involvement will play a key role in ensuring that the intervention is relevant, practical and grounded in the communities where it will be implemented.
Equipped with new skills and resources, these local champions will help bridge research and real-world practice while supporting intervention fidelity, community relevance and sustainability.
The launch in Ghana follows the recent field implementor training in Kenya and marks another important step as Generation H pilot implementation moves forward across both study countries.
We extend our appreciation to all participating partners, implementors, Research Assistants and project team members who contributed to the training in Accra.
Medaase — thank you.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the Generation H pilot continues in Ghana and Kenya.
